Hello everyone and welcome to another incredible game from the Sinquefield Cup. We have Praveen Anand vs. Jorden van Foreest. Praveen Anand lost his round three game to Vincent Keymer. It was a It was a beautiful match. If you haven't seen it, do check it out. I have a nice video on that game. Jorden on the
other hand is struggling in the event. He started off with two losses against Fabiano Caruana and then a draw versus Levon Aronian in round three.
He's looking to create something against Praveen Anand, but he does have the black pieces. So, it's not not the best event for him. He could still turn it around, but chances are pretty grim.
So, yeah, let's check it out. It's I feel like this is a game that you guys will really enjoy. You will learn a lot from it and it will simply improve your day. So, let's check it out. Prag with white opens with pawn to e4. We have pawn to c5. Jorden goes for the Sicilian defense. Knight f3, we have pawn to e6,
the French Sicilian. And d3, we have pawn to d5. And now, like Fischer in the olden days, queen to e2.
Here, pretty standard is knight b2 d2, but queen to e2, it's the usual setup. You'll go g3, queen to g2. Basically, you're playing the the King's Indian attack against the Sicilian. And okay, we have knight to f6. This is in modern chess, in in top level chess, for example, Alireza Firouzja played it
against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave last year. In Romania in the classical event, and he won a very nice game. So, knight f6 with g3, bishop to e7, and now bishop to g2 and e5 are known ideas and played quite a lot. But here, a4 by Prag, and it's not a new move, but it's a been seen in only a handful of games.
Knight to c6 and castles are known ideas here. B6 by Jorden is new. So, it is now already as of move six that we have a completely new game. So, you can see that Prag is blitzing it out. Yordan spent a couple of minutes deciding on how to treat this novelty. So, okay, bishop to G2. We have
bishop to B7 and bishop to F4 by Prag. We have D captures and this is a pawn sacrifice and it's very interesting what Prag had in mind. We have D captures, bishop captures and now just knight to C3. So, he gave up a pawn for development and now bishop to B7 is probably safest, but Yordan
goes bishop to C6 probably to prevent knight B5, but that is exactly what Prag plays. And look at the Prag's time, an hour and 26 minutes on the clock and now Prag plays the knight B5 and he burns those 26 minutes. So, this is the first move where Prag actually spent some time and
it's not an easy move to counter because knight to C7 check is the threat. And even if you do if even if it doesn't come with check, for example, you could castle, knight C7. And how are you reacting to this? Now, the problem with knight to A6, usually we can play this to stop knight C7, but here
it loses the game because rook to D1 and now after queen to C8 simply bishop to D6 and black does not have a move here.
